Culture Fusion
Artists
Richard Wyatt and Ricardo Duffy
About the Project
Culture Fusion is a unique artistic collaboration by artists Richard Wyatt and Ricardo Duffy. Fusing their individual techniques and cultures resulted in a representation of the unique Inglewood community.
Using photographs of each artist’s relatives, hand fired porcelain tile portraits of an older man and two young women were created. These are framed by stylized clouds and symbols from indigenous cultures, a background reflecting the community’s heritage. The artwork reflects the City, and artists’, fused heritage in a mixed media wall.
Culture Fusion was commissioned by the non-profit Inglewood Cultural Arts, with funding and site provided by the City.
