Would Inglewood
Artists
Holly Tempo, Daniel Rothman
About the Project
Holly Tempo and Daniel Rothman’s collaboration, Would Inglewood, was a performed public artwork framing the City and its history through a seasonal cycle. In four displays lasting for nine days every other month, Would Inglewood was experienced in the City’s historic Agee Theater. The spring theme was City participating to assemble a unique Inglewood-themed jigsaw puzzle. The summer installation, inspired in part by James Baldwin’s Nothing Personal, featured original live music. Autumn’s Perfect Memory paid homage to ripe fruit and splashing water. No Paths, the final segment, presented actual and imagined journeys to transcend geography, history and personal experience. The artists brought others to their collaboration.
