Cosmic Fusion
Artist
Ricardo Duffy
About the Project
Cosmic Fusion is a unique public artwork, commissioned in response to planned modification of the façade holding the collaborative artwork Culture Fusion by Ricardo Duffy and Richard Wyatt.
For Cosmic Fusion, Mr. Duffy designed panels for the new flanking walls. His ceramic medallions of the Mesoamerican symbols, the flying heart, flaming torch, and raining cloud, iterate the painted symbols and float on a background of charcoal grout and rich brown granite. This, and the deep blue frame, compliment the paint palette of the garage interior. Collaborating artist Richard Wyatt reviewed and approved the site modifications and the new artwork.
