It Takes A Village is a portable artwork made from a participatory public art project by Artist in Residence Shelley Heffler.  The artist addressed pandemic-imposed isolation by inviting community members to make individual linen quilt squares at home or in Rogers Park.  The finished squares were professionally lined so participants could keep with square or donate it for display.  The twenty participants contributing 28 panels to a framed, multi-authored artwork displayed in City Hall are:

Shelley Heffler is an artist with an extensive exhibition history and teaching experience. Her works have been shown in the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and throughout the United States. Her art is in private collections across the United States and on display in the Inglewood Senior Center.
