Historical Society of Centinela Valley

About the Project

The Historical Society of Centinela Valley is a non-profit established in 1964 to preserve history and maintain the Centinela Adobe. The organization leases the house from the City of Inglewood. Volunteers provide tours of this first South Bay home.  The Adobe was home to Inglewood founder Daniel Freeman’s Land Office.

The mission of the Historical Society of Centinela Valley is to acquire and preserve items of local historic significance, assist researchers and host those interested in the local transitions from the Agricultural Ranchos to the Center of Aerospace and Technology. They annually celebrate our heritage through the California Rancho Days.
