Moving Goalposts
Artist
Ned Kahn
About the Project
For a parking structure supporting the National Football League’s new media campus at Hollywood Park, artist Ned Kahn dematerialized concrete. His metallic art treatment reflects light and moves to atmospheric turbulence. Comprised of 4000 aluminum beams mounted to the garage openings, each free-hanging unit sways in the wind. The counterweight on the beam returns it to vertical in between wind gusts. The artist collaborated with Gensler Architects on Moving Goalposts and with Gizmo Art Productions on fabrication.
