Queen Park Garden
Artist
REZIN with St. John Chrysostom School youth
About the Project
Queen Park Garden is a mural celebrating natural wonder in Queen Park. The artwork is a graffiti abatement effort in partnership with KaBOOM!, the national non-profit dedicated to building parks and playgrounds for children. The artwork is inspired by the garden site, with images of birds, butterflies, flowers and fresh fruits and vegetables in a colorful array. Artist REZIN drew cartoon-style vegetables and tropical birds to brighten the east wall of a community garden. Youth from St. John Chrysostom School added colors to the design, and REZIN added shading and visual depth, making the Queen Park Garden mural truly vibrant.
About the Artist
REZIN, the artist’s tag used by Ron Lewis, was born in Greenville, Mississippi, and moved to Los Angeles as a child. REZIN is a multi-media artist who also works in music. His visual art uses a graffiti style that grew out of the LA music scene.
